Spike Rush Review & Gameplay Guide

I just spent the last few hours playing Spike Rush, and I've got to say, it's been a wild ride. As a huge fan of Rocket League, I was stoked to hear that Psyonix was releasing a new game mode that focused on 3v3 gameplay with a twist - a spike that would turn the ball into a super-powered game changer. I mean, who wouldn't want to play a game where you can just slam dunk the ball into the opponent's goal and get a huge boost.

At first, I was a bit skeptical about how it would all play out. I mean, Rocket League is all about the physics and the strategy, and I wasn't sure if adding a spike to the mix would just make things too crazy. But after playing a few matches, I was hooked. The spike adds a whole new level of excitement to the game, and it's amazing how much of a game changer it can be. I've had matches where I've been down by a goal with only a minute left, and then I get the spike and suddenly I'm on fire, scoring goal after goal and turning the whole game around.

One thing I will say is that Spike Rush can be a bit frustrating at times. The spike is so powerful that it can be tough to defend against, and sometimes it feels like the team with the spike is just going to win no matter what. But at the same time, that's also what makes it so exciting - you never know when the tide is going to turn and the other team is going to get the spike and start dominating. And even when you're on the losing end of a spike-filled rampage, it's hard not to laugh and just enjoy the chaos of it all.

As for the gameplay itself, it's still the same Rocket League we all know and love. The physics are still spot on, and the controls are still super responsive. But with the addition of the spike, it feels like a whole new game. I've been playing Rocket League for years, and I thought I had seen it all - but Spike Rush has breathed new life into the game for me. I've been playing with my friends nonstop, and we're all having a blast trying to outmaneuver each other and get our hands on that sweet, sweet spike.

If I have one complaint, it's that Spike Rush is only available as a limited time game mode. I get it, Psyonix wants to keep things fresh and exciting, but I'm not sure I'm ready to say goodbye to Spike Rush just yet. I've had so much fun playing it, and I know I'm not alone - my friends and I are all obsessed. I'm hoping that Psyonix will consider making Spike Rush a permanent game mode, or at least bringing it back for special events and holidays. Until then, I'm just going to enjoy it while it lasts and try to get in as many matches as possible.

Overall, I'm so glad I got to experience Spike Rush. It's a game mode that's all about excitement and energy, and it's a great addition to the Rocket League family. Even if you're not a huge Rocket League fan, I'd still recommend checking out Spike Rush - it's a blast to play, and it's a great way to mix things up and try something new. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and start spiking - you won't regret it.
