Never Fall Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last few hours playing Never Fall, and I've got to say, it's been a wild ride. The game's concept is pretty unique - you play as a character who's stuck in this never-ending loop of falling, and you've got to navigate through obstacles and enemies to survive. Sounds simple, but trust me, it's a lot harder than it looks. The controls are pretty tight, which is good, because you'll need to be quick on your feet to avoid getting smashed into a million pieces.
One thing that really stood out to me was the game's visuals. The art style is this beautiful, cartoonish thing that's both colorful and creepy at the same time. It's like something out of a fever dream, and I mean that in the best possible way. The animations are smooth, the backgrounds are detailed, and the character designs are all really unique. I found myself getting lost in the scenery more than once, which isn't always a good thing when you're trying to avoid getting killed.
Now, I know some people might find the gameplay a bit repetitive, and I can see why. You're basically doing the same thing over and over again - falling, avoiding obstacles, fighting enemies. But for me, that was part of the fun. There's this sense of rhythm to the game that's hard to explain, but once you get into the groove, it's hard to stop. And the levels are all pretty short, so even when you do die (and you will die, a lot), it's not like you lose a ton of progress. You can just jump right back in and try again.
That being said, there are a few things that bugged me about Never Fall. For one, the difficulty curve is a bit off. Some levels are way harder than others, and it feels like the game is inconsistent in terms of how tough it is. One minute you're cruising along, the next you're getting smashed into a wall for the umpteenth time. It's not a huge deal, but it can be frustrating at times. Also, the story is pretty minimal, which isn't always a bad thing, but in this case, I felt like it could've used a bit more development. You're just kind of... falling, and that's it.
Despite those minor complaints, I had a blast playing Never Fall. It's one of those games that's just fun to play, you know? It's not trying to be some deep, meaningful experience - it's just a game, and that's okay. Sometimes, that's exactly what I'm in the mood for. If you're looking for something to play in short bursts, or just want to try something a bit different, I'd definitely recommend giving Never Fall a shot. Just be prepared to die a lot, because it's going to happen.
Overall, I'm glad I picked up Never Fall. It's not a perfect game, but it's definitely a fun one. And at the price point it's at, I think it's a steal. If you're a fan of platformers or just looking for something new to try, I'd say give it a shot. Just don't say I didn't warn you - you will get frustrated, you will die a lot, but you'll also have a blast doing it.
