Mr Tomato VS Zombies Review & Gameplay Guide

I just spent the last few hours playing Mr Tomato VS Zombies and I've got to say, it's been a wild ride. The game is basically a tower defense game where you play as Mr Tomato, who's trying to defend his garden from hordes of zombies. Sounds simple enough, but trust me, it gets crazy fast. The graphics are pretty basic, but they've got a certain charm to them - the zombies are all different and look like they were drawn by a kid, which actually kind of adds to the game's humor.

The gameplay is where things get really interesting. You've got a bunch of different plants to choose from, each with its own unique abilities and strengths. There's the classic pea shooter, which is great for taking out individual zombies, but then there's also the more specialized plants like the freeze plant, which slows down all the zombies in a certain area. The strategy is pretty deep, and you'll need to think carefully about which plants to use and where to place them if you want to survive. I found myself getting more and more into it as the levels went on, trying to come up with the perfect combination of plants to take down the zombies.

One thing that's kind of annoying is the lack of a tutorial. I mean, I figured out how to play pretty quickly, but I can see how some people might get frustrated if they don't know what's going on. The game just kind of throws you in and expects you to figure it out, which is a bit rough. But once you get the hang of it, it's really fun. I also wish there were more levels - I felt like I blew through the game way too quickly. I'm not sure if there's a way to get more levels or if the game is just going to get updated at some point, but it's definitely something I'd like to see.

Despite the lack of levels, the game is still pretty challenging. The zombies get tougher and tougher as you go along, and you'll need to use all your skills and strategies to take them down. I died a lot, let's just say - but it was always my own fault, not the game's. The controls are pretty responsive, and I never felt like I was getting screwed over by the game itself. It's just a really well-designed game, and you can tell that the developers put a lot of thought into it.

I'm not going to lie, Mr Tomato VS Zombies is a bit of a weird game. I mean, it's about a tomato fighting zombies, which is just bizarre. But at the same time, it's kind of brilliant. It's like the developers took all these weird ideas and mashed them together into something that's actually really fun. And hey, who doesn't love a good zombie game? It's not the most serious or realistic game out there, but it's definitely entertaining. If you're looking for something to kill a few hours, I'd definitely recommend giving Mr Tomato VS Zombies a shot.

Overall, I'd say Mr Tomato VS Zombies is a solid game that's definitely worth checking out. It's not perfect, and it's got its flaws, but it's just so much fun to play. The strategy is deep, the gameplay is addictive, and the graphics are charming. And hey, it's not every day you get to play as a tomato fighting zombies. So if you're in the mood for something a little weird and a lot of fun, Mr Tomato VS Zombies is definitely the game for you. Just be prepared to die a lot - those zombies are tough.
