Mexico Rex 2 Review & Gameplay Guide

I just spent the last few days playing Mexico Rex 2 and I've gotta say, it's been a wild ride. I mean, the first game was a lot of fun, but this one takes it to a whole new level. You play as a dinosaur, running around Mexico, eating humans and destroying buildings. It's like someone took all the best parts of a B-movie and turned it into a game. The graphics are pretty sweet, the sound effects are on point, and the gameplay is ridiculously addictive.

One thing I noticed right away is that the controls are way tighter than the first game. I remember playing Mexico Rex and getting frustrated with the tanky controls, but this one feels way more responsive. You can dash and jump and chomp your way through the city with ease. And the city is way bigger this time around, with more buildings to smash and more humans to eat. I love how you can just run around and cause chaos, it's so satisfying to see a building come crashing down.

But it's not all sunshine and rainbows. The game gets pretty repetitive after a while. I mean, you're basically doing the same thing over and over again - running around, eating humans, destroying buildings. It starts to feel like you're just going through the motions after a while. And the humans are way too easy to kill. I know it's a game about a dinosaur, but it would be nice if the humans put up a bit of a fight. Maybe some soldiers with rocket launchers or something. As it is, it feels like you're just mowing down civilians left and right.

Despite the repetition, I still found myself coming back to the game again and again. There's just something about the feeling of being a giant, unstoppable dinosaur that's hard to resist. And the game has a great sense of humor about it - the humans are always running around screaming, and there are these hilarious little cutscenes where the news anchors are talking about the "dinosaur problem". It's clear the devs had a lot of fun making this game, and that humor really adds to the experience.

I also want to mention the unlockables. As you play through the game, you can unlock new dinosaurs and skins, which is pretty cool. I unlocked the triceratops and it was a lot of fun to play with - it's got this cool frill on its head that glows when you're low on health. The skins are also pretty sweet, I unlocked this one skin that makes my T-Rex look like a mariachi player. It's little touches like that which really add to the game's personality.

Overall, Mexico Rex 2 is a fun, if flawed, game. If you're a fan of mindless action and destruction, you'll probably love it. Just be aware that it gets a bit repetitive after a while, and the humans could use a bit of a buff. But hey, it's a game about a dinosaur eating humans and destroying buildings - what's not to love? I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, lighthearted gaming experience.
