I just finished playing FumeBurst and I have to say, it's been a wild ride. I picked it up on a whim after seeing some gameplay videos online, and I wasn't really sure what to expect. The premise of the game is pretty simple - you play as a character who has to navigate through a series of increasingly difficult levels, all while avoiding these giant clouds of toxic fumes that can kill you instantly. It sounds easy enough, but trust me, it's a lot harder than it looks.

At first, I was a bit frustrated with the game. The controls can be a bit wonky at times, and it takes some getting used to. But as I played more and more, I started to get the hang of it, and I have to say, it's actually pretty addictive. The levels are all really well-designed, with a good mix of challenging platforming sections and more straightforward areas where you can just run and jump to your heart's content. And the graphics are actually pretty impressive, especially considering the game's relatively low price point.

One thing that really stood out to me about FumeBurst is the sound design. The soundtrack is this pulsing, electronic mix that really gets your heart racing, and the sound effects are all really well-done. The way the fumes hiss and bubble as they move through the levels is actually pretty creepy, and it adds a lot to the overall tension and atmosphere of the game. And the best part is, the game doesn't take itself too seriously - there are all these hilarious little touches and Easter eggs hidden throughout the levels, from silly signs and billboards to these goofy little characters that you'll encounter as you play.

As I got further into the game, I started to notice that the difficulty curve is actually pretty well-balanced. The early levels are relatively easy, but as you progress, things start to get a lot tougher. The fumes get more aggressive, the platforms get narrower, and the enemies get more numerous. It's not always easy, but it's never really frustrating either - just challenging enough to keep you coming back for more. And the game has this great sense of progression, too, where you can unlock new characters and abilities as you complete levels and collect hidden items.

If I'm being honest, there are a few things that hold FumeBurst back from being a truly great game. The controls can still be a bit finicky at times, and some of the later levels feel a bit too long or too difficult. And there are a few areas where the graphics can be a bit rough around the edges. But overall, I'd say that FumeBurst is definitely worth checking out, especially if you're a fan of challenging platformers or just looking for something a bit different. It's not perfect, but it's a lot of fun, and I found myself coming back to it again and again even after I'd finished the main campaign.

Overall, I'd say that FumeBurst is a solid 7 or 8 out of 10. It's not going to win any awards for originality or complexity, but it's a great little game that's perfect for playing in short bursts or marathon sessions. And at the price point, it's definitely a steal - I've played games that cost twice as much and weren't half as enjoyable. So if you're looking for a fun, challenging game to add to your collection, I'd definitely recommend giving FumeBurst a try. Just be prepared to die a few dozen times as you learn the ropes - it's all part of the fun.
