Challenge the FootBall Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last few hours playing Challenge the Football and I have to say, it's been a pretty mixed bag for me. I mean, I was stoked to dive into a new football game, especially since I've been playing the same old Madden and FIFA games for years. The concept of Challenge the Football sounds cool on paper - it's like a more arcadey, fast-paced take on the sport, with an emphasis on crazy goals and over-the-top celebrations. But in practice, it's just not all that impressive.
First of all, the gameplay is pretty shallow. I mean, it's not like you have to worry about complex formations or anything, it's just a matter of running down the field and kicking the ball into the goal. And don't even get me started on the AI - it's super easy to exploit, and I found myself winning game after game without even breaking a sweat. Now, I know some people might say that's a good thing, but for me, it just made the game feel boring and unchallenging. I mean, where's the satisfaction in beating a team 10-0 every time?
The graphics and sound design are also pretty subpar. The player models look like they were ripped straight from a PS2 game, and the commentary is just cringeworthy. I mean, I've heard better commentary from a high school soccer game. And the sound effects are just weird - the ball sounds like it's made of plastic or something, and the crowd noise is just a weird, repetitive drone. It's like they didn't even bother to try and make the game sound realistic.
But despite all my complaints, there are a few things that Challenge the Football does right. For one thing, the game is just really fun to play with friends. We had a blast playing local multiplayer, just messing around and trying to score crazy goals. And the game's "challenge" mode is actually pretty cool - it's like a series of mini-games that test your skills in different areas, like shooting and passing. It's a great way to practice your skills and compete with your friends.
Overall, I'd say Challenge the Football is a pretty mediocre game. It's not bad, but it's not great either. If you're a hardcore football fan, you might get a kick out of it, but for everyone else, I'd say there are better options out there. I mean, unless you're just looking for a casual, pick-up-and-play game to mess around with, in which case Challenge the Football might be worth a look. But if you're looking for a serious, realistic football game, you're probably better off looking elsewhere.
I'm not sure if I'll be playing Challenge the Football again anytime soon, but I do think it has some potential. If the developers can patch up some of the game's issues - like the weak AI and bad graphics - and add some more depth to the gameplay, it could be a really fun and competitive game. But until then, I'd say it's just an average game that's worth a look if you're a fan of football or just looking for something new to play.
